Skygenic Values
Our Origins
The need for Skygenic—a software platform designed for scientists rather than bioinformaticians—emerged during a dinner party with physician-scientists and Associate Professors from Harvard Medical School. Despite being in a resource-rich environment, they faced months-long delays waiting for bioinformatics support. A review of existing platforms revealed that most were built to meet the complex needs of bioinformaticians, making them inaccessible to the majority of scientists. Skygenic was created to bridge this gap, offering a more intuitive and guided approach for common multi-omic sequencing strategies.
Skygenic Features
Independent Analysis and Deeper Insights
The first challenge scientists face is overcoming their dependence on bioinformaticians, allowing them to make discoveries at their own pace.
- Intuitive Guidance: Skygenic directs scientists toward the right analysis strategy using a software wizard designed in biological terms.
- Insightful Reports: Automatically generated reports educate scientists and provide valuable insights.
- Enhanced Discovery: Research question-dependent resources, such as pathway analysis and phenotype variant identification, are presented to ensure scientists utilize all relevant tools.
Access and Integration of Datasets
With newfound independence, scientists need immediate access to datasets to accelerate their research.
- Seamless Data Access: Skygenic connects with global public repositories, enabling scientists to search and acquire large datasets in just a few clicks.
- Controlled Data Sharing: Non-public repositories can retain control of valuable data while still granting scientists access to gain insights.
- Cross-Border Collaboration: Scientists can integrate datasets from other investigators, as well as public and private repositories across multiple countries, for comprehensive analysis.
Fostering Global Collaboration Among Scientists
To drive groundbreaking innovations, scientists must collaborate, share, and discuss smaller discoveries with experts across various fields to gain deeper insights into biological mechanisms.
- Secure Collaboration: Skygenic provides a secure project environment where scientists can combine protected datasets and discuss results in real-time.
- Real-Time Communication: Integrated instant messaging facilitates immediate discussions and exchange of insights.
- AI-Powered Connections: AI algorithms identify relevant connections, introducing scientists-regardless of their disease focus or research field-to one another for global collaboration that would otherwise not occur (Beta).
